Results 2004 WALTON REACH RESULTS Well done to everyone who took part for another good day. Special mention for Julia (now leading in the qualifying points with a total of 8) who took on the Ladies Singles challenge and won a pot there (plenty more where that came from Jules) as well as taking Ladies Doubles with Sally coxed by Lewis. Also a good win for “A New” Ladies Novice pair Alex and Ann coxed by Fiona. Rowena moves up to JS after pulling me down the course in Mixed Doubles, egged on by Sheila, while Bill bade me a noisy farewell from Junior Singles. Stuart showed his form in the Novice Singles, while Matt and Woolly coxed by Sheila got their revenge on him and Russ in the Junior Doubles. Steve and Peter came very close to winning the Novice Doubles. Otherwise an uneventful day with no equipment failures– no broken tholes, no snapped blades, no sunken dongolas, no yielding foot straps and no cutters going in Brownian motion; – except that Jon (ah!) had spotted that while Sarah and Elise got a Bronze with two blades each, Kath and Cath had managed a Silver with only one blade apiece, and so introduced two new events – tossing the blade, and three-oar racing.
