This was one we had to work hard for, as Skiff Club put in a large entry and there was an ambitious contingent from Wargrave. However we managed
5 good wins. Most encouraging was a win by M’n’M who ‘wrapped up’ the Novice Doubles, coxed by Suzanne - a well deserved first pot after all
their efforts. Sheila and Niall fortunately had no competition in veteran mixed so had to race in the open - and coxed by James took Novice Mixed.
Julia and Sally coxed by Suzanne just ran away with the Ladies Junior Doubles, and Matt showed his true form to win the Novice Singles.
There were no points in the ‘Oarmissing Trophy’ this week, but hubris showed itself in a very strong performance in the Botanical Cup at Junior
Singles level (nothing to do with a French pear tree – if you can work that out).
Sorry – only had time to collect the morning times, as the late running meant I had to break away to make an appointment with Scooby Doo in
the Didcot area.
